The Woodinville Toe Stompers is a non-profit, Plus square dance club that has been dancing up a storm in the
Puget Sound area of
western Washington for over 30 years. Originally founded as a Mainstream club in 1970, the Toes became
a Plus club in 1982. The club, which is part of the Central Puget Sound Council of the
Square and Folk Dance Federation of Washington, dances modern Western square
dancing, as defined by Callerlab.
The callers for the Toe Stompers are Steven Cole and Dave Knien. Our
co-presidents are Jim Noren and Patricia Arnold, who make sure that the club is a fun and
active one. The club has had many other terrific people as callers, cuers, and presidents
over the years, as you can see in the roster below.
The Toes Stompers sponsors Plus square dances on the
second and fourth Friday night of each month at the Sammamish Valley Grange in Woodinville, WA. Our dances
feature an open kitchen (dancers are encouraged to bring finger foods to share) and hearing
enhancement.
The club also sponsors
Plus lessons on Monday nights throughout the year, taught by Dave Knien. In the summer, the Toes have a Plus workshop on Monday nights. Usually the club
caravans to other dances once a month.
Three times a year, the club has general meetings which are open to any member of the Toes.
The club also has several board meetings throughout the year.
Any Plus square dancer is welcome to come to a Toe Stompers dance. We'd be happy to have you
join the club as well.
